File Sync Privacy Policy
Privacy policy for File Sync by Sixbytes.
Effective June 26, 2026
File Sync is a file synchronization utility for keeping selected folders and files organized and up to date. This privacy policy explains how Sixbytes handles information in connection with the mobile app, including data stored on your device, optional platform services, support requests, and app functionality.
Information handled by the app
File Sync may store app content you create or import, such as selected files, folders, file names, sync settings, sync activity.
Depending on the features you use, app content may include text, files, media, folder names, task details, reminders, settings, preferences, and other information you choose to add to the app.
The app may also use basic technical information needed to provide app functionality, maintain reliability, troubleshoot issues, remember preferences, and support user requests.
Mobile app permissions
File Sync may ask for mobile device permissions only when a feature needs them. Examples may include access to photos, files, camera, notifications, calendar, local network, Face ID, Touch ID, or device storage depending on the product and platform.
You can control many permissions from your iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS, or Windows settings. If you disable a permission, the related feature may stop working or may work with limited functionality.
Biometric unlock features such as Face ID or Touch ID are handled by the operating system. Sixbytes apps do not receive or store your biometric face or fingerprint data.
Local storage, sync, and backup
App content is designed around practical local-first workflows where appropriate. Content may be stored on your device so the app can open, organize, search, preview, or update your information.
Some features may let you choose to sync or back up supported data across devices. Sync and backup behavior can vary by product, platform, account, device settings, and feature availability.
When you enable sync, backup, cloud storage, local network transfer, file provider access, or platform services, the handling of that data may also be subject to the privacy terms of Apple, Google, Microsoft, cloud providers, network providers, or other services you choose to use.
Diagnostics and app reliability
Sixbytes may receive or review crash reports, diagnostics, performance information, device type, operating system version, app version, and similar technical details to understand bugs and improve app reliability.
Crash reports and diagnostics are intended to help maintain the app. They are not intended to collect the contents of your private notes, files, photos, tasks, or other app content.
Some diagnostic information may be provided through app stores, operating systems, analytics tools, or support messages depending on your device settings and how you contact us.
Purchases and app stores
If the app offers paid downloads, subscriptions, in-app purchases, trials, or premium features, payment processing is generally handled by the relevant app store or payment provider.
Sixbytes may receive limited purchase-related information needed to unlock features, verify entitlement, provide support, prevent abuse, or understand product usage. Sixbytes does not receive your full payment card details from app store purchases.
How information is used
Sixbytes uses information to provide app features, save your settings, enable selected sync or backup workflows, improve product reliability, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with applicable obligations.
Sixbytes does not sell personal app content.
Sixbytes does not use your private app content to train advertising profiles.
Support and communications
If you contact Sixbytes for support, we may use the information you provide to investigate the request and respond to you.
Support messages may include your email address, product name, device model, operating system, screenshots you choose to send, logs you choose to share, and details about the issue.
Please avoid sending sensitive app content in support messages unless it is necessary for your request. If you do send sensitive content, you are choosing to share that content with Sixbytes for support purposes.
Data retention and deletion
Content stored only on your device can usually be deleted by deleting the content in the app, removing app data, or uninstalling the app, subject to your device and backup settings.
Content stored in platform sync, cloud backup, app store, or third-party services may need to be managed through those services or your account settings.
Support communications and related records may be retained for a reasonable period so Sixbytes can respond to requests, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Children
File Sync is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to digital services.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Sixbytes without appropriate consent, contact help@sixbytes.io so we can review the request.
